Hartford HOG WINS the Chapter Bowling Challenge!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!

In a very close contest, Hartford HOG defeats WestConn HOG in the Chapter Bowling Challenge. The trophy stays home!

A good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event from organizing to helping to bowling to attending and cheering.

Volunteers Needed for Gengras H-D Open House April 23-25

Hey Everyone,

Genrgas H-D's Spring Open House is coming soon and Hartford H.O.G. is looking for volunteers to support the Event.

Here are the areas in which help is needed:

Traffic Control
Parking
Security
LOH Baked goods
Food tent, which will be serving both breakfast and lunch this year!

If there are individuals who plan on staying all day, they will be assisting and relieving those who are working in specific areas, so that they can take breaks.

We have been recognized as Club of the Month in the Feb/Mar 2010 edition of Connecticut Cruise News.

WebWeaving - New Things on our Website

Hey Everybody!

Just wanted to stop by, say Hey! And let you know what we have been weaving on the Hartford H.O.G. website.
We have a new webpage for our Chapter Assistant Director, located just under the Director Page in the “About” section of our index. While the Asst Director role is a position that generally goes “unsung” in other H.O.G. Chapter websites, it is good for us to share our leadership with everyone, whether they are existing members or members who just don’t know they will be joining us soon.

As the events for the riding season begin to appear on the calendar shortly, you will see some new icons at the bottom of the calendar where we provide specific ride info. These icons will provide more detailed information about the duration and type of ride it is so everyone can make decisions that fit their schedule and riding preferences. This idea came from our Head Road Captain, Rob Dorau so if they help you in some way, please mention it to him.

Also, on the Calendar, We are now displaying Gengras H-D events, some that are being supported by Hartford H.O.G. through volunteer support or just to plain old enjoy! I have created a new color code (purple) to call out these events and will note in the details section whether volunteers are being requested and who can be contacted if you would like to lend a hand.

I would like to thank: The Web Team, Karl for making the Assistant Director’s webpage and the new ride icons appear on the website; Bob for posting the pictures in our Members Only section: Paulie, for posting the Newsletter to the website; Rob Dorau for the Ride Icons; “Big D” Dave Larson for agreeing to hosting a webpage and the Primary Officers as well as our Dealership for their approval of these changes for 2010.

So remember to check out the site sections, for breaking news in the news section, the calendar for upcoming events and everything else we have to offer on the website. As Always, if there are questions, concerns or suggestions, please contact me and I will be happy to talk them over.

Chapter Membership - Did you know?

Did you know that your Hartford HOG chapter membership is based on a calendar year? It is, from January through December, and chapter dues are due in January.

This is contrast to your National HOG membership where your renewal is based on when you joined/renewed National HOG and on the number of years you paid for. Also, you must be an active member of National HOG in order to join a local HOG chapter. If your national membership expires, so does your chapter membership!

Now... are you wondering how to join Hartford HOG? It´s simple:
1) Join National HOG or renew your membership, (see members.hog.com),
2) Join Hartford HOG or renew your membership, (see Membership Information),
3) Come to a Hartford HOG meeting or event (see Calendar).
That´s it!

And for you ladies...
Did you know that Membership in national LOH is free to HOG members? It is!
Be sure you´ve selected "Ladies of Harley?" in the My Membership section of members.hog.com.
